The “come” command
When training your Beagle you first need to know to be patient. Beagles are known to be very sensitive dogs so avoid abuse and remember to use positive reinforcement. To teach him or her to come to you can take some time, but remember that training your Beagle can be a bonding time between the two of you. First, make sure you have plenty of treats on hand. When you are outside and your Beagle is not looking at you call his or her name and act very excited. This should get your beagle training for the come command kick started. Give him or her a treat and then repeat over and over again at greater distances each time. Remember to take a break in between sections for you and your Beagle because you want this to be a positive experience and not a chore.
