I have decided that internet tv is way better than cable tv. I can watch thousands of channels on internet tv services like john q tv without paying any monthly fee. I just have to buy the software and then I am good to go. There are movies to watch as well, though like with cable tv you have to pay extra to watch some of them. I can burn things to discs so I can still record anything I want to watch later. I can even watch tv channels that aren’t available through my local cable network, so I think I will probably cancel my cable and just keep the internet TV.

I stumbled across this newspaper article that features an MIT professor’s quote on video games being great equalizers. According to Professor Jenkins “video games have converged different entertainment platforms that allow producers to exercise new ways of stretching the viability of their intellectual properties.” It might have sounded a lot more like alien language than English, but the part about movie producers and book author creating game versions to cement their place in the industry is dead on. Especially anyone trying to buy guitar hero 3 for wii.
Almost all successful movie ventures branch out to video games to further enhance the public’s experience. Jenkins calls in “transmedia strategies” - to satisfy the market’s curiosity and give the audience the power to explore and control certain parts of the movie through video games.

More and more studies and research demonstrate that kids can become more aggressive by playing violent cheap wii games. There is an increasing concern that virtual violence can lead to real life violence and aggressive tendencies in children. Finding s in the investigations have shown that playing violent games do not only affect the playing kids’ behaviours, but also influence them to behave in more aggressive ways. Experts believe that children are more prone to imitate what they see in television, movies, and video games, and these influences are effectively “training” children that aggressiveness is an effective and acceptable means of conflict resolution –even in real life. I guess parents need to do a better job in controlling these influences in their children’s lives.

I have four children, and the younger ones especially are very hard on the things that we purchase for our home. This is especially true of DVDs, those little monsters… erm, I mean darlings, just do not seem to understand the importance of keeping their hands off of them. Recently, totally fed up with replacing expensive DVDs, my husband made the decision to purchase a DVD Duplicator. What a great purchase that turned out to be. Now when we purchase a new DVD we automatically make two copies and put the original away. If the copies get hurt, we have spent nothing compared to the cost of the original DVD.

The problem with SEO or search engine optimisation and search marketing is the ever increasing demand to be at the top for given terms. As competition increases it becomes more difficult to get up at the top. How can this be managed? A study this week (Nov 17th 2008) showed that since people’s search patterns become more sophisticated, long tail keywords are showing significantly better conversion rates than shorter ones. It’s the low hanging fruit of SEO and is easy to get. It takes a little more thought, planning and diligence – so be sure to choose an optimiser with personal integrity who will do that due diligence of research before setting out to do the optimisation both on and off page.

The Microsoft Zune seems to have so many custom designs and spin offs. Some people love it and some hate it. I actually think it’s good that Zune made so many original designs under Zune Originals group and so do many Zune fans says zune Blog. It is Zune’s originality that makes it so very different than the Apple iPod or the SanDisk Sansa or even the Creative Zen. It is the difference that well, makes the difference! I give Microsoft much props for thinking outside the box with their Zune MP3 and video player. Being the same as every one else just gets boring.

Garmin has many heart rate monitors, but the 305 is considered the best among them. Garmin has tagged the Forerunner 305 as a personal trainer. This is because it chalks out the course along which you have been jogging or running. The stylized design makes it an attractive gadget to carry around. The Forerunner 305 is slightly bigger than the other heart rate monitoring devices but that makes an additional fashion statement.
You can transfer your workout records in your computer or laptop through special software available with the Forerunner 305. In terms of time, distance, and speed, you can compare your daily performance with sophisticated charts and graphs. Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS Watch

Recently my fiance started a business that require him to spend a lot of time in Hong Kong. To make a telephone call from the United States of America to Hong Kong is very expensive. I looked for phone service that had an affordable international calling plan. Strangely, I discovered that phone voip service beat all prices that were quoted to me. It’s actually ran through the computer modem. I can even talk to him through the video camera under my voip plan. I’m glad technology made it possible. Now we can talk every day and I don’t have to spend a fortune like I would have to without this service.

If you could choose what mobile hand held music playing device to get what would you choose? I would choose the SanDisk Sansa music player. I wouldn’t choose the Apple iPod for various reasons. Sansa Accessories that many other people don’t choose the SanDisk Sansa for lots of reasons as well. One is the Apple iPod is just about style while the SanDisk Sansa provides better music quality output then the Apple iPod and all the competition out there. While the Sansa may not have the smooth good looks of the Apple iPod to me Sansa’s music quality is much more important to me.

My husband is going on an elk hunt out west, and their hunting areas are miles and miles of desolate country. I was reading the Garmin nuvi 770 report, which is geared more towards driving. However, I don’t see why you couldn’t use it for hunting too. It would show where the roads are and where you are, so at least you would know where the road is in relation to where you are. That would give you your bearings. I don’t know if it would tell you how to get to the road, or if it only talks when you are going from one road to another.
