Because of stray dogs, neighborhood kids and deer, we are considering fencing our property. We want as tall a fence as we can get so the deer can not jump over it, but we don’t want to offend the neighbors either. Some places have covenants that give limits to fence heights, but there are none here to guide us. Different people give us different advice, so it is hard to come up with the correct choice. We are probably going to have to let the local fencing company come up with the fence design and hope for the best. We are thinking of adobe walls in the front and metal fencing at the back of the property.

I recently found a great place in Seattle that has mudcloth clothing designs.  This is wonderful fabric out of West Africa that is uniquely created.  No two designs are alike thanks to different artisans making the fabric.  A designer originally from Europe then creates lovely coats, jackets and the like that are as comfortable as they are beautiful.  The mudcloth clothing designs were a hit in the fashion world during the Obama campaign with his roots in Kenya and are even more so now.  Many Europeans and Americans embrace these vibrant colored works of art to wear at parties and social gatherings.  The rich textures and tones of the garments embrace a simplicity that will always be in style. 

I never seem to be able to find a house that is just the way I want it, so I always have to settle for something that is less than perfect. I have finally decided that I am just going to have to design my own house if I want it to be the perfect house for me. Now that I have gotten a more stable job and I am living where there are lots of other opportunities, I am finally going to do it. I am working on the kitchen layout now, making it nice and bright and putting everything just where I want it.

I have had many types of furniture. I do tend to be drawn toward natural materieals such as leather. But there is no furniture that I have enjoyed more than my cabin furniture that I bought for our mountain home. It just made good sense to me but esteitically it was the best thing for my home and the compliments that I have received on the decor with the cabin furniture has been overwhelming. I love the look of this furniture in my home and I know I did not make the wrong choice; not in the fact that I bought a log cabin and not in my choice of furniture. It is home sweet home.

Sasha needed to get a portable AC unit soon. She was practically dying in the sweltering heat that never seemed to go away this past month or so. It was probably seasonal, but as far as she had remembered, it had never been as bad as this before.So, at last it was more than she could take, and she was out in search of the best portable AC units that money could buy her. Anything to help her so-called “keep her cool” in this horrid weather.Trudging through a number of stores, it wasn’t long before she found what she needed. Thankfully enough, it was within her budget so she purchased it right away.

While I love gardening, I must admit cleaning all the garden tools for winter storage is a pain. It is like a negative action, as it makes nothing grow. On the other hand, the tools don’t last too well if you just put the away in a corner of the shed, still dirty from the summer’s and fall’s work. So, as an incentive, I’m going to treat myself to a nice new garden tool rack, plus a new push hoe ready for next spring. It may not get used for a few months, but the hoe will encourage me to clean the rake, spade and othre tools.

I have had the same uncomfortable mattress for about 20 years.  I definatley needed a new one.  I’m a simple guy that doesn’t need anything fancy.  I was just looking for a cheap foam mattress.  I went the the nearest store and looked at identical mattresses.  Most of them looked the same, though there prices were much different.  I grabbed the cheap one and went home.  I realized the next day that I shoud have been more carefull with my selection.  It was almost worse than my old mattress.  I should have just bought the higher rated mattress for an extra $80.

Over the years I have owned a variety of cordless drills. I have purchased the full spectrum ranging from the big names with the expensive tags to the cheep-o brands with no options. I have been extremely happy with my Hitachi cordless drill. I have had it for about 2 years now and have had no problems. The batteries still have a long life and the drill itself still works like it did the day I took it out of the box. It seems to come with all the options and specifications of the high end models of other brands but priced a step below them. Hitachi also has some small gadgets that they include that are not common on all other models, such as a led spot light for illuminating where you are working.
